Fried Apples by BCatherine Peel and slice apples and place in a frying pan with cinnamon, brown sugar and butter. I don't measure, I just add what looks good for the amt. of apples I've peeled. I sprinkle the cinnamon pretty liberally. I use about a teaspoon or so of flour about 3-5 min. before done to thicken up the sauce a little. I made it this morning and it only took about 10 min. or so in the fry pan. Cook until apples are tender. Yummy!
BTW, I'm editing to add that I use Jonathan apples and Jonamac apples b/c they are both a little tart; You can use Granny smith apples too. The tartness is better with the sweetness of the other ingredients to us but you can use a sweeter apple too. Catherine

Caramel Apple Bread by BCatherine 25-30 carmels (most of a 14 oz. bag) 3 cups all purpose flour 1 cup butter, softened 4 cups confectioners sugar 1 T. vanilla 6 eggs 2 t. cinnamon 1 t. ground allspice 3-4 cups peeled and chopped Granny Smith apples
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 9X5 loaf pans. Unwrap caramels; using scissors cut each into 8 pieces. T oss w/ 1tsp. of the flour in a small bowl to prevent them from sticking together. Set aside.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add the eggs, mixing well. In another bowl, combine the remaining flour, cinnamon and allspice. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, blend well.
Using a wooden spoon, stir in the apples and caramel pieces. Divide into two bread pans. Sorry I don't have a time for this - watch it and when it looks brown and ready check it with a toothpick. I haven't tried it yet but I'm planning to this fall. I'll let you know how long I cook it for.

Apple Crisp Two by BCatherine Here's another apple crisp. I found my recipe! Yea! It's in the oven now and smells so good! There is more cinnamon in this one than in others and I think that has a lot to do with how yummy it is!
6 tart apples - peeled, sliced (if they are smaller apples I will use 8 or so). 1/2 cup butter, melted 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup white sugar 1 cup quick cooking oats (I use old fashioned if it is what I have and it seems to make no difference). 1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces 2 Tablespoons ground cinnamon - divided
Preheat oven to 350. Place apples in a 9X13 baking dish. In a bowl, mix melted butter, flour, sugar, oats and 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon to form a crumbly mixture. Sprinkle over apples. Dot with remaining 1/4 cup butter and sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Bake 50 min. until lightly browned and apples are tender.
In the past I've also added a little bit of vanilla extract. yummy! Catherine BTW, I edited to change what I said about using brown sugar in this recipe...this is not the one that I use brown sugar in...I thought it was. I found out the hard way last night that it wasn't this recipe, lol. I think that I might have done half and half (half white and half brown) or maybe I just sprinkled brown sugar on top?? I can't remember what it was that I did differently with this one. I made it today w/ white and it is fine.

Snickers Apple Salad by Joy at Home 1 pkg vanilla pudding 1 cup milk 1 tub 'o' Cool Whip, room temperature 4 to 6 medium size Granny Smith apples 3 or 4 Snickers candy bars
Mix 1 cup milk with the pudding mix, add Cool Whip and mix well. Cut apples and Snickers candy bars into bite size pieces and stir into pudding mix. I usually save 6-8 slices of Snickers to place on top.
Use Granny Smith or other tart apples because the pudding sauce is sweet! The number of apples you use depends on how much salad you want to make (recipe calls for 4, I stretch it with 6). The number of Snickers bars depends on how yummy you want the salad to be!
