For those with Apple computers, is this the only way to "clean" your Mac? Do you use any particular program to keep your computer running optimally?

Just read a bunch of articles online …Not favorable!… of course AFTER I installed ( but did not actually USE) MacKeeper.
Just uninstalled it!
