Help me think of what needs to happen this week. Surgery is Monday. DD will be gone that week but I'll be getting her back that weekend.
Things I know I need to do this week: -double batch of DH's breakfast muffins -a few more freezer meals including cooked rice to go with some slow cooker freezer meals -do all the laundry at the end of the week -do a little more thorough job of cleaning by the end of the week -prep all of DD's food to take with her to her grandparents' house since she is still on her special diet (but not for too much longer!)
What else do I need to do? What do I need to buy at the grocery store to make stuff easier?
That first week I'll have: DH on Monday, a friend on Tuesday (EMT trained which is great since I sometimes react to medications, antibiotics, etc.), no one Wednesday but a friend on-call in case I really need help, my mom Thursday and Friday. So Thur and Fri my mom can do a bunch for me if I need it for the following week. I really want to have those first couple of weeks be fairly simple for me without much to do. The second week I know I'll be feeling some better but will have DD back and solo.

Anything special for you/your recovery that you need to makes sure you have enough around? ("girl stuff", ibuprofen, etc??) Do you have enough cat food, toilet paper, other household needs stuff around? Sounds like you've thought things through pretty well.

I do need "girl stuff" as AF is due 4 days after surgery and I can only use pads until April. Thanks for the reminder. And cat food. I would have had some angry kitties. lol

Easy lunch foods, snacks. Assortment of things to keep you hydrated. Do you like 7-up? Gatorade? Juice? Sometimes something different tastes good when you're under the weather. A good book tor read.

I'm picking up some chicken nuggets, lunch meat, etc. for easy lunches for me. Thoughts on snacks? I'm horrible at thinking of snacks. I end up snacking on cereal most the time because I can't think of anything else. I have a bunch of Kindle books to read. I have a bunch of DVR shows to catch up on as well as movies I haven't seen in awhile. I'm a bit of a toilet paper hoarder so good there (I hate paying full price for tp so I buy it whenever it is a good deal). Yes! Chocolate! Thank you! I feel like I am overlooking an item or a task that will make things easier. :/

Snack wise I like popcorn, goldfish crackers, wheat thins with cheese slices (guilty pleasure!) granola and yogurt.

How about setting up a station so you don't have to get up for things. have everything at hand. Maybe even a cooler with your drinks in it. Have lotion and kleenex and goodies and remotes and chargers close by with all the chords and paraphernalia necessary.

I have a fabric basket thing that used to hold cloth diapers that I can use. I probably won't do the cooler as I am suppose to get up and walk around every so often. With a catheter, I won't have the "walk to the bathroom" excuse so will use the "walk to the fridge" one instead. At this point, my surgery is penciled in for 12:15. Will know for sure Friday. I was really hoping for first thing in the morning so pretty annoyed by that. DH took the day off to take me there and back and get me settled. We won't be getting home until dinner time now. So my first real day of recovery, he won't be there. I'd rather have him than a friend but oh well. Not to mention I'm not allowed to eat from midnight on (not even water) so it's going to be a loooong morning.
