Just a small ramble because I'm excited

Funny how little things can just make your day.
My Dad had a stroke 2 years ago and hasn't been the same since. It's pushed him into dementia. He sometimes forgets who my Mom is. Can't remember many things. But for some reason he remembers his time up at a Boys Club Camp in Wisconsin where he spent many, many summers as a camper then as a volunteer as a teen. Dad didn't come from a loving home so this was his escape. He repeats stories from camp to us all the time. Mom says it was the best time of his life so he must go there as his happy place, maybe?
Anyway, Mom & Dad had to give up their house this year. We packed and got rid of so much stuff. Just now Mom is making headway in their new place and came across a letter from a man who went to camp with my Dad. The letter was from July. She gave it to me and asked me to email the man. So, I did. I also asked the man if he had any pictures he could share with me so I could show Dad - also that I would read his letters to him and would respond back.
20 minutes later I had a return email!
I think the guy might be just as excited as I am. It was a short email because he's going through pictures and will get something put together for me. He says he has lots of pictures both old and new since he visited the camp last summer. I can't wait to share with Dad.
