The doctor is not happy that he takes Excedrin Migraine almost daily.
B. is so afraid of ANY headache turning into a migraine that he has been taking it with every headache. Won't even TRY Tylenol or Ibuprofen. He nows the Excedrin works, so he doesn't want to "chance" it. I don't like it either, but I can understand, knowing how he suffers.
Does anyone here have any experience with Topamax? ( It is also an anti-seizure drug, but used for migraine prevention in adults)
TIA.

I took it for seizures. I lost about 30 lbs. on it. Food started tasting weird so I ate less. (It's a side effect.) My dd suffered from daily headaches for almost a year - a few migraines over the course as well. We tried Topomax at one point for her headaches. Within a week she felt the tingling in her fingers by the second week it was in her hands and then feet. We ended up finding a proactive neurologist who sent us for PT. Long story short - My dd is now headache free! PM me for more info/details if you're interested. I hate when our kids are experiencing pain and we can't fix it. OT or RX meds didn't help my dd at all.

I thought I should mention that once the tingling started in her feet we stopped the meds.

I thought I should mention that once the tingling started in her feet we stopped the meds. I have a list of the side effects. ( scary…) The dr said that initially he may have stomach pain and brain fogginess, but to keep up with the meds. As the days go on, those will improve. So far no side effects…. Hope he won't have any concerning side effects , like your dd had… Just hoping for some relief for him..

Dh took it. His personality changed. He became angry and easily irritated. Chiropractic didn't work for him either. Physical therapy was the magic in his case.
Good luck. Everything works so differently for different people.
