A not too well known series called "Hope Island". It ran for 1 season in 1999-2000. I have most episodes on old VHS taped from TV, but not all. But I've never seen it anywhere else until yesterday, although I have often looked. Its about a small community on an island in the Pacific Northwest (fictional island). One of the main characters is a minister who restarts a local church. Its just a cute, safe, fun show. I love the small community it portrays - a quirky community but what I loved was that they truly cared about each other. This might sound sappy, but I actually used to long to be in a community like that. But then I DID find a community like that - not in a town but in a church, the church of my collge/post-college years. I am also partial to its setting. Maps on the walls in some scenes are real maps of Puget Sound and I can pinpoint the island I grew up on it. Anyway, I can't believe this series actually showed up somewhere! YAY!

Too bad my library system doesn't have it. Sounds like a sweet show. (is Hulu free?)

Hulu is free. (NOT "Hulu Plus" - just plain "Hulu")
I don't think its on DVD or VHS anywhere. This is the first time I've seen it played anywhere off of TV since it was originally aired. I hope that it will eventually come out on DVD. Its just one of those not very well known and short-lived series. I really wish it lasted longer than just the one season.
