I went out for a few hours and the sliding door open a bit so the cats could go inside for food if they wanted to. Well, I came home to a family room full of feathers and a dead bird. Poor little thing! It's the second one my cats have killed in the past couple of weeks

Poor bird. Mine gets birds on occasion but he doesn't bring them inside at least. I'd prefer he focused more on the rodents instead. I had cat years ago who brought a live garter snake in the house twice.

Awwwww. That makes me sad.
I was driving g to work Wednesday and noticed a beautiful blue woodpecker with a red head . He was just sitting in the road. Hoping he would fly away ,I noticed I couldn't slow down or veer as I had a truck on my tail and a car coming towards me... I hit him... I squished him flat. I cried. Ugh. Then the fish a day later...

Then the fish a day later... I remember hitting a raccoon once (I think - it was dark and I didn't even see much of it but it was middle of nowhere so not likely a pet at least). It was a sickening feeling, it was awful.

I had cat years ago who brought a live garter snake in the house twice. Eeeeek! Did he let it loose in the house?? Yep! The first time she brought it in, it slithered into a closet full of storage and I decided it wasn't worth pulling it all out to find the snake. The snake showed up a day or so later curled up inside our printer (on a desk near the closet). We took the printer outside, dismantled it and let the snake go. But Jenny re-caught the snake and brought it back in a few days later! I'm not sure it survived the second round though - it was still alive when I took it back out but it was pretty bedraggled.
