My Mom's husband died mid October. I packed and moved my Mom to a new apartment the end of November. My brother-in-law became ill and was hospitalized the end of November. BIL died mid-December. My Mom was ill and at my house for several weeks in January. I had a breakdown in January!
Anyway, my Mom is moving AGAIN next weekend. Her name came to the top of a waiting list in the town I grew up in and where my sister and brother still live. It is a good move for her, great place for her to be in the long run, but TOO SOON. I suggested that maybe my brother would like to be in charge this time. Luckily, she is well and has lots of time so has been packing on her own. I'm going out to pack with her on Friday and my brother will arrive with his truck on Saturday for the move.
Our 25 yo son moved into his first apartment 9/15. He wants to experience independence before he finishes grad school and possibly moved across the country on his own. Great idea! 9/19 he came home to a notice under his door. The building has been sold; no further repairs will be made and he has until 12/31 to vacate. So! My son is MOVING, perhaps 11/1.
And.....My mother-in-law has purchased one side of a twin home. She's downsizing from a 3 bedroom house she's lived in (and filled with garage sale knick knacks and toys for the grandchildren) since 1976. She is potentially moving the end of November. Then her house needs to be emptied of the extra and prepared for sale. Oh, and her granddaughter and her 1 yo and 3 yo are visiting from Georgia until Thanksgiving while Daddy is deployed. Craziness.
I think I'm running away from home October 2019 and not returning until 2020. Falls have become too nuts!
