We did, just for fun. I have not had time to really look into it more, but Ancestry sent me some matches ( and yes…. I recognize some of the names… distant relatives from my grandfather's side of the family)
I pretty much knew I was Lithuanian ( Eastern European) and Irish, but I have a few others, like English and Scottish! ( so why did I pay $4000 for my son to travel there this week??? I should have gone!!!! LOL)
Anyone else do this???

I have never done it. I have always wondered how accurate they really are though - or I should say, how possible is it really for them to be as accurate as they say? I can certainly see where they could narrow things down to different regions of the world. But different specific countries?? But I'm just going on bits and pieces of info that I've heard - I've never really looked into it.

I haven't done it but have often thought how fun/neat it would be to get it done!

Not me. I have a fear that I won't be what I thought it was and a whole bag of family secrets will bust open. Logical? Not a bit. But not a risk I want to take.

I've done it. We also paid for my Mom to do it since she did not know any of her heritage. My fathers side was pretty spot on with his geneaology work. We did the 23 & me. Connected with quite a few relatives.
I'm almost 80% Irish. More than we had originally thought.
