Mine was the gifts from my 3 kids bought family... the 2 oldest specifically. Not the gifts....(The gifts themselves were fantastic !) But the most heartwarming part was the thought and the effort that went into the gifts... Such wonderful thoughtfulness for me, DH, their siblings and their grandmothers! You could see the pride and their joy in giving..... Gives me such joy!
We all went to Church on Christmas Eve... so beautiful!
We had such a joyful, warm, cozy Christmas this year...Just close family... Being together is the greatest gift!

A festive dinner OUT with my family of 5, my mom and my 2 bonus kids. It was a frolicking good time for 7 of 8; Mom didn't quite "get" them. I wish I could have participated more rather than listening to and occupying my Mom but I worked hard to be a good, supportive daughter.

I loved how my kids were so excited and so thankful for even the littlest things. We don't do Santa in our house - actually, we do the stories because they are fun, but the kids know them as just fiction stories. (Personal choice - not criticizing or questioning anyone who did Santa!) But since we don't do Santa, the kids are directly thankful to us parents for everything. They both had a "main" present but nothing this year was too big. But their hearts of thankfulness were/are precious. On a total different level, I found a special personal blessing on Christmas Eve. In going through a borrowed box of pictures from my parents' house, I found an old picture from 1989 of my childhood cat Sticky. He has been gone over 20 years and finding a picture of him that I don't have was special.

I had a nice Christmas....all the kids came home, at least for a few hours, and all the grandkids were here. We had food, decorations, and a nice lunch. But my highlight was playing an antique pump organ.
After my mom's passing, we cleaned out her house, and I acquired an antique organ. I spent time each day playing it - all the old christmas hymns. It made for a calm and relaxing holiday - focused on the Birth of Christ.
