yes ! I have been
Jingle Bells by Jennifer chiaverini.......I was hoping for something fun and light ,,,, this was not light and easy. It tells two stories....one about some kids in choir practice....then every chapter talks about the same choir practice, from the nun, to the kids, to the person watching, to the director, etc.
The alternate story is all about Henry Wadsworth Longfellow....he wrote the poem, I heard the bells on Christmas day.....that became the carol.
This part was very historical, and had some very sad parts, alot about the civil war.
A really good book.....glad I read it...but it wasn't the fun fluffy read I was expecting.
The Best/Worse Christmas Pageant ever.... a favorite of mine, and I read it every few years.
12 Slays of Christmas by Jacqueline Frost.....this was a murder mystery.....with 10 days leading up to christmas.....set on a xmas tree farm, in the town of Mistletoe - so the whole town goes all out for xmas. Lots of xmas included....but a murder mystery....in a light hearted way.
I am looking for my copy of A House without a christmas tree
and I am half way through The Homecoming...a Spencer Mountain story (this book became the Xmas special / pilot for the tv series the Waltons)
