We only had 3 older kids in scary costumes, no sweet little ones dressed up as fairies or Winnie the Pooh It past years we've had around 30 kids. It sure has been quiet this year...

ZERO! We live out in a rural area. There are a few kids nearby - mostly older but a few the same age as my kids - but they never trick-or-treat around here. One neighbor with a little one the same age as my DD was going to a trunk-or-treat a short ways away. We always have something around (if we are home), but I never expect anyone. I talked my kids into a movie/popcorn/candy night at home! Its been so busy lately. My kids had a carnival/trunk or treat at their school a week and a half ago. They got to wear costumes to school today. Our church is doing a trunk or treat, but I really didn't want to go out again tonight. So we watched "Cars 2" and had popcorn, apples and candy. Great, QUIET night!

6.. I am so sad. I feel cheated. We used to get around 30 or 40. Our power went out during prime T or T time, and a few neighborhoods had 200 or more at each house. ( central to town and adjoining neighborhoods) We used to be the "happening neighborhood"… Now all the kids are older. Makes me really sad.

We have had 0 in the last 14 years. At our old house we would get hundreds!

We had ZERO cuz we were lights off. We arrived home from the airport at 7:15 so too late to get things started. The last couple years though my block has been very quiet. I'm on a dead end and I think that dissuades people. I get the feeling that trunk or treats or community center events have taken over the trick-or-treating. It makes me sad. I LOVED it as a kid and my kids loved it as well.

We never get trick or treaters. We live on the edge of a neigborhood - and our drive way opens up on a road that is busy. We weren't even home, didn't buy candy, almost a non event for us.
We stopped by to see the grand children in their costumes before they went to a church trunk or treat event. Then we went to dinner.
Definitely not what Halloween was like with 4 kids under the age of 10..... now all kids are over 18 yrs....

I never did like trick or treating actually, even as a kid. It was/is probably my introvert/shyness tendencies coming out. My mom eventually did pretty much what we did this year - got candy we actually liked and did something fun at home. (Also my birthday and my brother's birthday are right before halloween so as kids we had done that was the celebration we looked forward to.)

That's neat you are carrying along the "Halloween at home" tradition with your kids!
