It's 5:17 AM right now. I accidentally woke up, rolled over, and realized dh isn't in bed. Which means, he already left to take ds to the airport to go back to college. His plane leaves in half an hour. Which means, ds snuck out of the house without me saying a proper goodbye. I won't see him again until May, and I didn't get to say goodbye and give a send-off hug to my baby. I'm sure ds and dh thought they were being kind by not waking me up at 4:00 when they left, but I'm so sad right now. I'm complaining here instead of to them, because I don't want to upset them.

It's not silly. I'm sure they just didn't want to wake you.

Well, that's not a silly little thing. I'd be upset too. My son leaves the house for work sometimes around 4 am, and I like to try to be awake to see him off. (And, he's not leaving for six months, just for the day!) I'm sorry ((((( HUG ))))))))) Maybe it was a hard thing fort him to tell you goodbye too. :dunno:

Dh did that to me one time when my parents left. They had tried to convince him to wake me up, but he was "being thoughtful. " It took me a while to get over his "thoughtfulness. " I'm sorry for you!

I'd be crying... I'm so sorry about that. Perhaps it was difficult for your son and he thought that it would be 'easier' not to SAY goodbye? Whatever the reason, I'm sure they both has your heart in mind. But yeah... I'd be sad too.

((((BIGHUG)))) They had your heart in mind. And you have their hearts in mind coming here to let it out instead of upsetting them.

I can see my guys doing that too. In fact, when ds1 left ahead of us for Texas he didn't see the need to say goodbye either.
Let your dh know kindly that the better way next time is to let momma say goodbye.
