We just found today that the former principal of my boys' high school, took his own life. "Former" principal because our school board had already removed him as principal of the high school last year, and then recently fired him from his central office position, with no reason and no notice.
This man was a role model to my and many other kids. He was admired and loved by students, parents, and teachers. He was an excellent principal. He still came to the football games to see the band, wrestling matches, awards ceremonies...he came to my son's graduation in May. He worked with us on some problems with my son a couple years ago and I can tell you with certainty that he loved and cared for the kids and advocated for what was best for them.
He was mistreated horribly by our school board. It was said that he suffered from depression for years. He was going through an ugly divorce. I am very shocked and sad and angry. We all knew he was not doing well, but had no idea anything like this was coming. This so very hard to accept.
