I am trying to have a healthy balance this year! Life looks different because the kids are getting older , so I'm not trying to find activities to keep them busy as in years past. DD is relaxing, getting together with friends and applying/interviewing for teaching jobs for the fall. DS1 is working , doing odd jobs and landscaping work on his own. He's spending time with his girlfriend (who we adore!!) I need to persuade him to take a course that is given by the college he's attending in the fall to brush up on his math skills ( he took a placement test…. oh boy! The results were not good! ) Ds2 is helping DS1 a bit, and taking care of both Grandma's lawns, going to the gym and jiu jitsu , and hanging out with friends. He sleeps a lot … Need to get him going earlier, so he doesn't stay up late and get up late… He fell into a pattern and come school time, this will not work! I have 3 more days to clear my Aunt's apartment. I have lots of stuff going to a church tag sale, more (clothing) going to another church's collection, and lots to just get rid of! Lots of work! Then to get her finances, policies, etc in order. That will be my summer! I want to relax a bit as I am working full time come August 30th! How about all of you?? WHat does your summer look like???

Since I just had surgery, my summer is going to be quiet. I can't drive for 6 weeks, which is hard. I am recovering well physically but struggling with not being able to do anything.

Mix of busy and quiet weeks...girls are both going to camp for two weeks...the rest of the summer there are lots of "teen activities" that are free between the library and church youth group. and we will go to the town pool...in the morning and evening-absolutely nothing.

Glad you are feeling better physically. I imagine not being able to do much would really be hard after a while. I'll pray for you!!! (((((hugs)))))

We've been pretty laid back so far. Not much planned. We do have a camping trip with our youth group coming up.
My days alternate between my parents, helping my sister with the kids and my kids. My oldest is working. My youngest is looking for work. My husband has been working 7 days a week for some time now. Hoping that comes to an end soon. Then we can plan some camping trips. We'd like to go to the Ark by The Creation Museum.
Beginning in August my sisters maternity time ends and I'll get both kids. An almost 4 year old and a newborn. I may be sleeping my summer away!

I'm leaning into a quieter summer, hopefully one of rest. This past year has been draining for me with school, work, family, etc. I'm taking most of the summer off to recenter and refresh so I can serve my family and others well the rest of the year. I'm doing a lot of reading on the porch. I haven't had a lot of time to read lately, so that's been nice. Sitting still feels foreign to my restless mind though. It takes time to learn how to live to a slower rhythm. I'm also purging and cleaning. So far I think we've given away 14 or 15 big bags to the mission center. Many more to go. Going to start on my son's room, probably tomorrow. Pray for me. (He'll be helping!) I'll be going to She Speaks later this month. Looking forward to it, but at the same time, kind of wishing I could stay home and continue to relax. I need the rest more than I need the conference this year, I think. In the throes of birthday-madness around here. I love serving my family, but am always glad when bday season is behind us each year. Trying to plan a time when everyone can come over for a meal when they've got adult lives and jobs and girlfriends--yeesh. Hoping to make that happen this weekend. Hope you all have a restful summer. The fall season with all it's busyness will be on top of us before we know it. ((hug))

Mostly relaxed. We went camping at the end of June. I've just solidified plans for DS's birthday party - I'm not a party planner at all so I stressed about this for months! I have a short sport of working more than I want (normal full time person is on vacation) but after Monday it will go back to 1 to 1 1/2 days a week. Kids have swimming lessons for 2 weeks starting on Monday. We are planning a trip to my SIL's at the beginning of August - might combine it with a camping trip with my parents if I can get my act together and plan it. We have a traditional family hike we will do at the end of summer and another the kids want to do (up to and through a cave) that we will probably do too. DH and I have some household things to get done - bigger maintenance stuff we are not doing ourselves (mostly) but are in the process of getting quotes and such. Other than that, just some swimming and other fun things around town.
