Who's been to Disney lately?
It's been at least 15 yrs. for us. My kids were quite small then, & DS was 3.
We're pretty sure that he's going to sign with the Navy. I'm exited for him, though I'm not showing too much emotion either way because I want the decision to be DS'. I'm a little disappointed that he doesn't want to go straight to college, but I'll get over it. He'd do great socially. I just don't see it academically right now. He's a good student & earns good grades. I think it's tired of school. I don't blame him!
DH & I are going to take a Disney vacation with him (we haven't told him yet) ... we are thinking before he would go to Boot Camp, so mostly likely a trip shortly after school is over the first part of June. I know that it's hot down there @ that time, but it'd be ok. I think. What do you think?
We wouldn't stay very long. We'd fly in and then spend at most 3 days visiting parks (maybe only 2). Two is preferable bc I'd like some time at the pool! But I don't know .... I don't even know what is down there anymore!
We will want to see Magic Kingdom. I suppose Epcot. MGM ?? Or Universal? Which would DS enjoy the most?
I like staying on Disney property but we wouldn't have to. What besides Universal is down there? What do you recommend for this trip ... the sites to see & lodging?
I need all the tips that you can stand to give me. Thanks!

My oldest and I did Universal last year. Because of the tropical storm that was hitting we only got to do 1 day. We went specifically for Harry Potter. That was enough for 1 day itself. We could have done another day at Universal - 1/2 at Harry Potter again and 1/2 somewhere else in the park. I'd love to go back for the new Avatar thing but I think that's Disney.
We stayed at a Holiday Inn across the street from Universal. They said it was within walking distance, but really it's not. Why walk all that way to just have to walk around all day? We drove and paid for parking.

My older teens, and 20's age children.........would only go to disney w/ little kids.
They all want to do Universal - and do the Harry Potter worlds.
We stayed at the wilderness property on disney once, a long long time ago.....and after walking around the park all day, was really looking forward to sitting in a hot tub. Then discovered it was a half mile walk to the hot tub from our hotel room.....
the next time we got a cheap hotel, and the pool was literally 20 feet from our room (which meant we heard kids playing and yelling while we were trying to nap )....but was much better for us at that time.
