So, at the beginning of this school year, I was quite a bit heavier than I have been in several years. Between a super busy spring (Brock graduated; dh turned 50) and my dad's hospital stays out of town where I was always "grabbing something quick," I had put on about 13/14 pounds.
Well, now I am down 18 pounds from the beginning of the year. Sadly, I don't really SEE that much of a difference. I still have A LOT to lose (I was overweight to begin with but adding more weight didn't help!!!), but I have found a way of eating that agrees with me and I actually lose weight - win/win. I'd sure like to see more inches come off though! I've lost about 3 inches in my waist since the end of January, and due to illness, haven't really exercised super regularly.
Is it normal to lose almost 20 lbs and not see a big physical difference? I mean, some of my clothes are looser, but I was hoping to see something a bit more drastic! lol

I don't know about physical differences. But great job for finding a workable way to eat and losing weight!!! I did a whole30 in January/February (which basically cuts out sugar, grains, legumes, dairy and alcohol. I felt SO much better, that I started another one, but I've modified it a bit. I am not as strict with it. I do plan on doing a REALLY strict one again in June so I can reintroduce foods to see what really bothers me the most. But this is the first time I've actually lost weight in a while. I try to eat A LOT of fruits/veggies which I actually really like. The biggest thing is it has just changed my relationship with food. My goal has been health rather than weight loss, so it's ironic that once I started focusing on my health, I started losing weight when I tried diets before and nothing happened! lol
