Do you just introduce yourself? Take over a cake or other baked item? Food?

In the past I have taken over a plate of cookies and introduced
myself and welcomed them to the neighbourhood.
I only introduced myself to our most recent neighbours the first time we were both out the front of our homes. These days with people being on different eating plans and having allergies I don't do the cookies anymore.
