I had a crazy dream early this morning. I dreamed I got to spend time with my dog who died a little over 20 years ago.
I have loved all the dogs of my life. But this dog - Jessie - was different. I found Jesus in the aftermath of her death. God used Jessie to bring me to Himself.
It has been many, many years since I have dreamed about her. Even this dream was different though. Not only did I get to hold her and pet her as I did in life, but I also felt like I got to love her and appreciate her in the way that I have only come to do in the many years since she died. In life, she was a very special dog to me. But over the years as I have realized how much God has changed me as He used her, I have come to love her in a different way, even years after her death.
God is so amazing. I was 17 when I lost Jessie. Nothing before or since has been so devastating to me as her death. But God took that and turned it into something beautiful. I can't even imagine where I would be now had He not met me in that place and in that time and in such a purposeful way. After the dream last night, I am grateful to God all over again for His plan.

Man's best friend Glad you found a great one in your youth I know families that won't have a dog......because of hair, or scratches on the floor....makes me sad......

I've always felt it isn't an accident that God spelled backwards is dog. Honestly, my dog has taught me so much about God and how He works - Kipper's been like a living illustration for so many principles!

Your faith is her gift to you that will be with you always! Yes. And its funny that something like 9 or 10 years after she died, I learned that her name (or the male version of her name - Jesse) in Hebrew means "gift"! I was 11 years old when I gave her that name - I had absolutely no idea what it meant and could never have known then what role she would come to have in my life. God knew though!
