 Seemed like a good time to use this guy! We got about 4 inches of new snow last night. On top of the several inches we have had for the last couple of months. We've been hovering around 10ish inches of snow with the snow-melt back-snow cycle since early December. My paths between the piles of snow are getting ridiculous! But on the good side, I have NO MUD! No muddy kid shoes. No muddy dog feet. Melted snow is much preferrable. AND, usually about this time of year I start getting antsy to start getting into my garden - as the sun comes out and the weather gets nicer. No so much this year. And that's a good thing - I'm not trying to keep myself from starting my garden too early. And I think I still haven't lost my fascination of snowy winters. This winter is unusual even for here, but where I grew up snow only hung around for a few days (maybe even a few hours) before it melted. I've been on this side of the mountains now since fall of 2000. But I am still excited by snow. Even if it is a lot of work! |

we've had a warmer winter than normal here. Not that snow is ever normal for here either. I don't think i'd do well if snow was something we got a lot of. I prefer to get snow the way we get it an inch or two to cover everything and then hang around a a couple of days melt and be 70 again by the weekend.

January and February have been pretty warm. Lots of rain. Floods my yard then freezes. Rain/freeze/thaw start over again. If all this rain was snow we'd be in a heap of trouble.
I love big snow storms. Doesn't seem like winter without snow.

You need to move south! We get below freezing and go right back up in the 70s within a few days. I wore my flip flops and a short sleeve to Moms Night Out last night. |

Looks like you get another chance to go out and shovel today. Since the kids went to school today we already have 2 inches on the porch and that was after hubby shoveled this morning.I'm so over this snow! We could still get a couple more inches yet today and tonight.I got an email from the middle school saying kids are being let out ten minutes earlier than usual.I wonder if they are anticipating buses needing more time to get to the elementary schools.  |

I think they did that a couple weeks ago or so too. I think they want to try to get the elementary kids home on time. I haven't had any messages yet (for elementary) - I can't remember if I did last time. I'm definitely getting my exercise in by doing this |
