Our church is doing a baby bottle fundraiser for a local pregnancy crisis center. Yesterday, we brought home a bottle to fill. This morning, DS asks what exactly its for. Explaining the idea of babies not being wanted and killing unborn babies is hard to explain to a sensitive 7 1/2 year old. I explained it as gently and carefully as I could and told him the idea of the baby bottle is to help women be able to have ways that will help them be able to keep and love their babies. He understood and I thought the conversation was done when he left the room, presumably to busy himself with other things. But the next thing I know, he's back in the kitchen with a $5 bill and some change from his bank and says he wants to use it to help the women and their babies. He said he knew it was a lot ($5 is a big deal to a 7 yo!) but he didn't care - he wanted to help people. So happy proud tears for my DS and his giving heart this morning.
