So, I guess I'm full of weird things this week! So, I have this problem off and on, particularly in the winter when it's really cold. It hurts to breathe, as in when I breathe in, I have sharp pain in one or the other nostril. It's usually at night and if I wake up, I have a hard time going back to sleep because, well, it hurts to breathe. I always get this when I get a cold and take a decongestant, so I'm thinking it's dryness or something. I do try to use saline before I go to bed, but obviously that doesn't last all night. Any suggestions? I had a really lousy night's sleep the past few days and this was part of the problem. Blah!

An older person told me this, and I started doing it years ago....It does help !
Right before bed, rub Vaseline inside your nostril, to help keep it moist. If you have a cold, rub first aid cream inside your nose...that way you are breathing in antibiotics all night.
Do you have floor registers? If so, put a giant pan of water on it, so you have extra humidity in your bedroom or near your bed

Our registers are in the ceiling, unfortunately, but I think I might try a humidifier in my room and see if that helps! I haven't before because, to be honest, I hate keeping them clean!

I have that problem when I have a cold and/or take cold meds. Moisture in the room helps. I also use a qtip to put chapstick, neosporin or vaseline lightly in my nostrils. It helps with the stinking feeling.

I'll bet this will help you.
