As you know I have been working at the middle school 3 days a week in the health office, sharing the job with another RN who works 2 days. ( She works two 12 hr shifts at the hospital, so she would not be able to work all 5 days at the school, and I prefer not to do all 5 bc of family obligations… Though my DH sees no problem with me doing all 5 days… he just does not get it… Sure I could possibly do it all, but at my expense…)Anyhow….
The School Nurse we are covering for has made the decision to continue her leave indefinitely to be a stay at home Mom! (YAY!!!) It was a hard decision for her, but one she is 100% happy about! We are thrilled for her , and as someone who did not have that option, I can say that I am rejoicing with her, as I know that is where her heart is!!!!
In years past, I have been looked over for other positions in the school health offices b/c I wanted to job share and do 3 days… They allowed us to do Aug-Jan job sharing as substitutes until she returned.
The other RN and I are praying that we will be allowed to continue this . We work so well together … have great communication and work in the same way ( the assistant in the office says she feels like she is working with the same nurse all 5 days b/c we are so alike).
Our immediate supervisor and the school are 100% for this arrangement. Please pray that the Director of Nursing at the agency that employs us will be ,too...
