Happened yesterday. I did not like the way he was holding his arm… but he was adamant that he did not want to go get checked. He figured it was bruised and would hurt less in the morning. He actually suggested going this morning ( I was going to bring him for an X-ray no matter what.)
It's his radius at the elbow ( the cup of the head of the radius is broken)
So we will see an orthopedic MD this week. He has a sling until then.
Thankfully it wasn't his noggin!!!

Glad he got it checked!
I broke my wrist years ago but thought I just sprained it good - there wasn't even any bruising. A year later I learned I broke it and it formed a false joint at the site. Bad way to learn!
Praying for complication-free healing - and praise that it wasn't his head!

Ouch. DS1 sacrificed an intact leg to his skateboard - 1st run down his 1st ramp at his 1st skate park. Hope DS heals quickly and doesn't require intense intervention.

I think the break is fairly uncomplicated, so I do not think it will require any surgery. Thanks for praying.

When my ds broke his arm in a hockey game.....after the initial pain...I offered to take him to the ER for an xray - but he wanted nachos and to finish watching the game. So....we watched the game, and I took him home and he slept on the couch.....and I took him to Orthoindy the next day. I was expecting to get the "horrible mom" award for making him wait, but was praised.....the ortho guys said the ER folks are not experts at setting bones, and that waiting and coming there was the best course of action.... hope his arm heals fast (something about teenage boys....keeps their heads safe )

Hope he heals quickly and that it's not too painful!
Dd fell out of a tree and broke her arm last week. She had a temporary cast and sling at first and got her hard cast just today. Definetely ask about a waterproof cast! That is what they gave her and it's so nice that she can take normal showers now. With the temporary she had to wrap it in plastic and take a bath.
