On Friday I will be attending the funeral of my Aunt Linda. My uncle who passed 6 and a half years ago...this was his wife, my Godmother. She suffered from alcoholism...It was horrible in the final years, with consistent bleed-outs, days of laying in her own excrement, falls, drying out when the ambulance would take her to the hospital, wet brain, and on it went. Truly...suffering, lonely.
Without sounding cold....It's actually a relief to know she isn't suffering any longer. But she was not an old woman.
I have wonderful memories of her and she positively impacted my childhood. My children would have loved to have known the Aunt before the disease took her.
Prayers would be appreciated.
This will be the first time we have to interact with family (Aunt Linda's niece on her side) that stole Uncle Jerry's funeral money. I'm a little concerned my Dad might say something. It's almost like my parents have lost their filter for appropriate social graces, kwim?

I'm sorry about your aunt's tragic life and death. I'm praying for all of you and for all of the issues regarding her funeral.
