We are "looking" as I have a junior in HS. I am a bit more "relaxed" this time around . I also have a Senior in college who "paved the way"! DS1 is thinking of community college for the first 2 years, at least. He is not sure of his major yet, and waffles between wanting to own his own landscaping business vs being an Orthodontist. BIG difference!!!! Are any of you in the same boat?

I have a junior in high school, so we are in the midst of college visits. We have yet to find one that feels like a good fit for her. We have another visit planned for next month. If that one doesn't seem like a good fit, there are two more on our list to check out.
I also have a sophomore in college and a freshman in high school.

I feel like my life is consumed with college stuff these days!
I have the twins launched into college. Phew! They are sophomores this year. (Cedarville University in Ohio, and Letourneau University in NE Texas.)
I have a high school senior who was notified on Christmas Eve that he was accepted into Texas State University! Woo-hoo! We are currently waiting to hear if he was accepted into the TSU Honor College or not. Should find out any day! Biting my nails! This year he is taking classes on campus at our local community college, so he's slowly transitioning.
And just yesterday I signed up my current 10th grader to take the ASVAB Career Exploration test in March. For our family, this has been the first step in the college process. It really helped the older three figure out what direction they wanted to go, then we were able to explore colleges based on that. Once I have the twins into their junior year and my next one into his freshman year, I expect to start the college visitation hoopla with this boy. But that's next year. I can only take this one year at a time. (LOL)
By the way, do you have any idea how many campus visitations I've attended? I've lost count, it's been so many! And I'm not done yet! (Eek!)

My senior has decided on her college and has been accepted. I need to write checks for housing/registration. Waiting to hear this week on scholarships.
My other dd is a Freshman and loves the college that dd will be attending. We'll see 3 years is a way off. Or not. Yikes!

I have a child who has no idea what he wants to do, so he is really dragging his feet. He did apply and was accepted to 2 colleges. He was invited to a scholarship competition at the one school - they give away 2 full rides. However, it is writing (which he is fairly good at) and interviews (which he is not being a pretty rabid introvert). But I thought we'd go and see what happens. He is heavily leaning toward not going anywhere next year, and while he does what we ask, he just stubbornly doesn't do much of anything toward figuring out what he wants to do. He is definitely a one thing at a time type of person, so trying to figure out college, finish his senior year and play basketball is probably overload for him. My dh is not really on board with me pushing too hard so I've let it go - even though with his ACTs he could probably have gotten full or close to full rides at some colleges. My youngest is a freshman and he's already looking at schools. I guess they are all different.

We have one son in junior year and one sophomore. Fortunately, they both know what they want to do and what school they want to attend. We are also figuring out alternate choices for schools, at least for 1st 2 years. We may or may not do campus visits...haven't done any yet. They have done well to keep up good GPA's in Honors/AP classes, and lots of good extracurriculars, so they should be in good shape. We also need to start scholarship searches. Hoping for Georgia Hope money, which would cover 90%-100% of their tuition (we are assuming in-state is a given for undergraduate school). It is nerve-wracking, and exciting, and fun, and sad, all at the same time but I figure as busy as we all are with everything it will keep my mind off the sad part somewhat

When did YOUR kids get that old? And yes, the busy-ness does help… you are so insanely busy that you really don't have time to dwell on the fact that they are entering another stage!!!

We are full in college mode. FAFSA paperwork, etc.
K is 23 and has always taken a course or two each semester at CC. He never knew what he wanted to do. He moved out. He is home again but that helped him decide so he is now aggressively taking classes to finally finish his associates and is applying for U of H for Fall.
N is 19 and is taking math and writing at CC. He has decided be would like to visit and talk with Texas State Technical College in Waco. He is a hands on guy and this may be a really good route for him.

Just did DD's FAFSA on Monday. Need to use the data-retrieval once taxes are completed…But it's filed at least!

I have NOOOOOO idea when they got this old. The high school years are a blur. They are both so busy but it's a good thing. It's good that it keeps my mind busy but hard because it IS going so fast, soon it will be over. I have to stay positive!! This has been the most difficult phase for me because of knowing how quickly they'll be gone. Trying to focus on being happy about their accomplishments and knowing they will likely be happy at college, doing what they are interested in!

I'm looking at boarding schools and foster families for high school. Does that count?
