I posted this request on the Hearts board but decided to post here. I am still sick and it has been over a month. I know so many people have the flu. My county is ranked high in the number of cases. So I know there are many sick people and it might seem selfish.. but I am so tired of the continued illness. I had a round of antibiotics and still am in pain with tons of crude. I had something viral/bacterial set into my sinus and it is sticking around. I hate to have to go back into the drs. ugh. I may have to but please pray for this to move on. It has been over a month.

thanks to all who have prayed. I am feeling somewhat better today. I posted on Facebook about only wanting to feel better and over this illness for Christmas. I got one Fb friend who than posted a rant about how people need to get over themselves and it they said something about what people want for Christmas.. she went on to say that Christmas was about God, family and love. Anyhow.. I know given peoples lives circumstances my request might have seemed selfish. I have people in my life experiencing real serious illness with cancer being among those. The FB friend was a relative and they went on and on about there life and there troubles so my request might of hit a nerve. I replied with telling them how I know Christmas is about Christ and that he cares for all people- cares and concerns and is full of compassion. I also wished her a Merry Christmas. Her reaction was to unfriend me. I do not know why I am sharing all this. I guess I just wanted you ladies to know I understand that many people are going through so much lately. Here on the board it is not exception. I pray for all your requests when I think of them. I am thankful I have you ladies who honor my requests .. God bless you. I see and love your compassion. We share a true blessing as kindred hearts. My hearts sisters. Merry Christmas to you all. God be with you in your struggles and bless you abundantly!

Everyone has something in their life. It doesn't do anyone any good to compare our troubles to someone else's.
Asking for prayer for any reason (no matter how big or small) does not negate or make light of the circumstances in someone else's life. Or it shouldn't - and if it does hurt someone's feelings, that is not your fault.
For what its worth, I have a friend (who in the past was a very good friend), who has become so self-focused in the last few years that she seems unable to express care or compassion for anyone else's issues anymore. It saddens me greatly because in the past she is someone I would have turned to in difficulty - now she only turns the topic to herself and her problems... I guess to me its a reminder that no matter what is going on in my life, I need to see into the lives of others too. I once heard that there are two types of people in the world - those who need help and those who can give help - and that all of us fit into both categories at the same time.
I'm sorry your friend reacted as she did. But you were not wrong to ask for help - you were not selfish. I very much believe that you know about and you care about the hurts of others.
Glad you are feeling a little better and I pray you keep improving!

Rhonda, I hope you are feeling better. As for the FB thing, try not to let it spoil your Christmas. Hugs to you.
