It is actually the 4th calf born this season but the 1st one lost. 25% death rate is no good. It looks like it was probably stillborn (or possibly born in the middle of the night and attacked by coyotes). I'll probably be doing morning checks in addition to afternoon feeding now. :thud: Got to call dh at work (on his 14th hour of work today) to tell him.

He came home and we went out. I couldn't figure out who the momma was, she was a first calf heifer so we've lost 2 years on her.
