I got up early to get the boys wrestling uniforms ( singlets… I call them onesies! hahaha)
I was a bit sleepy at 6 am… and I was heading downstairs with socks ( and no shoes) on.
(Let's just say that hardwood stairs and socks are not a good combo)
I slipped at the top step, and crashed all the way down…and my left leg/foot got caught on the step and twisted inward.
I have a torn MCL … Have a thigh to ankle immobilizer, which is weird, but helps with the pain... I am otherwise ok… very sore….bruised… but pretty much ok….
I am not done Christmas shopping!!!!!! LOL!

Oh, my goodness! That sounds so painful. How long will you have to be in the immobilizer for?

Oh my goodness! I hope it heals quickly and you can rest it enough, that's gonna be hard to do these next few days with Christmas coming so soon!

At least 2 weeks. I see the orthopedic Dr then.
Happy though that they do not generally do surgery for a torn MCL …(only ACL injuries,) unless I was a professional athlete, which clearly , judging by my athleticism and ability going down stairs, I am not!

Oh no! My son just underwent ACL surgery last month. He finally got off the crutches yesterday, but will be in the leg brace for a few more months.
So no surgery for you? Honestly, if it were ME that tore the ACL instead of my son, I would not have gotten the surgery. With a torn MCL I really wouldn't do it. I think physical therapy can strengthen the surrounding muscles to compensate for the torn MCL, and you should be fine"ish" with that. Of course, you'll always have to be careful with it from now on, so no more rolling down the stairs. (LOL)
