I had to stay home from church on Sunday (and my dad couldn't come as planned) b/c of two sick girls.
Now I just got back from the clinic with DD3 (about the worst kid to have sick - so whiny, teary, irritable). She probably has strep (still waiting on the rapid test results, though we did already start Zithromax). We haven't dealt with strep since spring of 2009 when DD1 had her tonsils removed. DD3 is just so miserable... has hardly eaten anything the past couple days b/c it hurts too much, just sobs and sobs and sobs.

So sorry! Do you have extra kids still? They left yesterday, but I'll be picking them up to take to youth group and AWANA activities shortly. The youngest will be here for a couple hours tonight, but that's it. I told the mom about the strep, but she said to still take the kids. That situation still needs major prayer. I may meet with the Mom tomorrow, hoping to speak truth that I think she needs to hear, but isn't hearing from anyone right now. |

I'm so sorry about all the sickness in your house, especially now during this busy season!
I didn't know you had extra kids. I guess I missed a post about that somewhere. Anyway, when I watched kids in my home I cancelled if my kids were sick, nor would I let her bring her sick kids around mine. My kids needed my time and attention to much, plus I needed the freedom to take them to the doctor if needed.
I'll keep all of you in my prayers.

Her rapid and overnight strep tests both came back positive. We're treating three others who have been mildly symptomatic (mostly b/c we don't want to be dealing with it over Christmas).
I'm not doing childcare as such. This was a temporary situation to help some friends that are having marital difficulties. The sickness was pretty much a non-factor in comparison to the family upheaval that's taking place.

Kids are doing well now. One more day of antibiotics tomorrow.
The family is living under one roof again and getting counseling. Yay!
