Late last week, I noticed that my fit bit wasn't counting my steps accurately. On Monday, it just quit counting them altogether. And it stopped on 2666. Hope that's not a horrible sign. LOL! I'm going to get a new battery and see if that helps, but I think something must be messed up inside because the low battery indicator has not been on at all. The display works, but it won't count any steps at all anymore. I'm really bummed because I don't see myself getting a new one anytime soon. I've only had it since June 2014 so I'm not impressed with it's longevity

That's a shame. I hope the new battery helps

Mine is not holding a charge for as long as it used to. Many people are telling me to contact Fitbit about it, their supposed to be really good about troubleshooting/fixing problems with them.

Removing and reinserting the battery seems to have worked....for the moment anyway. Hopefully, it was that easy of a fix.
Debbie- that's a bummer, too! Mine is a zip so it isn't rechargeable. Batteries don't last very long though! At least not as long as I think they should!

I see that this is an older post, but if you contact the company directly and explain the situation, they might be willing to help you out. When I lost my fitbit, the company chose to send me a new one completely free of charge. I appreciate their customer service.

I just had to take out the battery and put it back in to reset it. At least I will know what to do next time it happens!

If you continue to have problems, make sure you contact Fitbit. They are a such a great company that stands by their product. They have replaced mine for various issues twice! At NO charge!!! Keep walking!

I contacted them about 2 weeks ago to ask about a replacement battery cover for my old Zip so my dd could use it. Instead of letting me purchase a cover they replaced the Zip completely! It was over 2 years old. I had heard they had great customer service, but this really blew me away!
