I wish we had the FUN emoticons on this board that we had on H@H.

Anyway ..... guess what .... I'm now in "the club."
We are now MORTGAGE FREE!!!!!
We paid off our house this month.
So so so SUPER COOL.
Wish I could say that I wasn't taking the amount of our mortgage payment & spending it on this kids this month,
but with the passing of my mom (& them not receiving gifts from her this Christmas), dh & I decided to be extra generous with them.
Ds practically begged for an electric guitar, so he is getting that + lessons.
Dd#1 wanted an espresso maker.
Dd#2 wants Ugg slippers & a special (remembrance) necklace.
Dh & I are talking of giving some $ to (our church .... her church) in honor of my mom.
So .... starting next month, I am putting dh & I on a very strict savings "diet."
I told him that "he's costing me" about $400 a month with filling up his gas tank & eating lunches out & maybe a couple of misc. purchases."
His money .... ha!
Me? While I've been known to spend also ... I really need nothing .... will be GREAT to see myself not spending.
My mom has a TON of shoes & clothing that will be coming my way (I'm the only one who fits her size).
Wow-wee ...... We've never been "house payment free" before.
I mean, we'll still have ins. & our taxes, which is going to run about $3200 a year, I guess.
We'll need a roof this summer,
and I DO want to remodel our bathroom.
Dh will do the work on both projects which will save us a ton.
Hmm ... maybe we won't be saving a lot this year.
But, at least now we CAN do these projects.
