that I think several of the wagons behind the wagon I fell off have run over me. I'm going to have to get myself back on plan, some plan, any plan at this point! Rearranging our schedule has really thrown eating off all the way around! Exercise hasn't been terrible but it hasn't been great (and combined with the eating is just not doing any good).

((( Y'all ))) Between metabolisms becoming unfriendly as we age, and life being so dadgum busy...it's not as easy as it used to be, that's for sure. ((hug)) I'm finally doing pretty well again. That being said, it's taken me three months to lose 8 pounds. Maybe 9, but I refused to get on the scale the first couple of days b/c I didn't want to know what it said, lol. I've still got 6 or 7 pounds to go. At my rate, it may be Christmas before I get there. I haven't worn my fitbit in a couple of months, probably. I'm back to my normal exercising (stair stepper, pilates reformer), which works a lot better for me than counting steps does. I still walk, but I'm taking a break from counting steps, b/c I was focusing too much on the step count, and it was keeping me from doing my other stuff. The walking is great, but it doesn't build the same strength and muscle as the other stuff does, and I need both. Especially since I have bone loss already. ( ) It feels good to feel strong again. I'll probably wear the fitbit again sometime, but not be too concerned with the steps so that I can fit the rest of my exercising in too. (It's near impossible to walk 20,000 to 60,000 steps a day and still manage to fit in any other exercise!) (Go figure, lol) (I was a little fitbit obsessed, probably.) Good luck to y'all. What inspires you? Whatever that is, maybe put a reminder of it every.bless'ed.place.you.look. That helps me a lot...keeping those goals and reminders not too far from my thoughts. (And, also, thinking about how I'll feel if I do mess up. I always hate how I feel afterward, so I try to remind myself of that thought beforehand.)

Dh brought home some "motivation" in the form of a work memo last night. His employer restructured their insurance a few years back to work to combat increasing insurance costs (and I really like it). They started setting it up almost like car insurance (our policy covers him, spouse & 4 kids and he pays more than a guy covering a spouse and 2 kids, non smokers pay less than smokers, spouses who can get work through their employers and chose not to pay a surcharge to participate - non working spouses have the surcharges waived, lots of little things like that so that what you pay is more based on the choices you make). I really like the concept. Until today, management & spouses also have evaluations done to determine BMI (or waist size), Cholesterol and high blood pressure. Dh became management in April so now we both have to meet the min. standards or we'll be both be charged up to an extra $50 a month. Yikes!! (It is voluntary so we could opt out but that comes with a $60 opt out fee, I do really like the program because like car insurance if your are higher risk you pay more for coverage). Of course, all that being said my BMI is over the target of 29.9 (which is the top end of "overweight") and my waist size is quite a few inches over the target waist size. Our evaluations will be sometime in late August. Cholesterol & Blood Pressure isn't an issue. Dh has nothing to worry about in any of the areas he is well under for BMI, blood pressure and cholesterol are all great. So if our insurance goes up it'll be all on me! Guess I need to get busy, huh?

I am right there with you. I added a job to an already busy schedule and haven't exercised beyond a few walks since I started in September. Now I am on summer vacation from all of these responsibilities. I need to get back on track.

I did do the math last night and I need to lose about 17 pounds to hit target BMI & that seems like it could be doable. I'll need to actually work at it & stop eating like crap!
That does at least give me a workable goal. I've got 11 weeks until the end of August so I really only have to lose a little over a pound a week. I should definitely be able to manage that, especially if I start now.

Food is fuel We can do it!

I have started back on track. My problem is in the month of May and now June, I told myself I was going to start the Whole30 in June. So, then I proceeded to eat like a pig for several weeks and haven't been exercising as much. At my age, that is a BAD idea! I've been planning my meals for the day and cutting out sweets except for a square of dark chocolate after dinner. I need to step up the exercise too!

I'm trying to get back on the THM wagon as well. Starting with some menu planning. Why not take that first step and plan some meals?
I know I struggle the most with sweets. Have you tried any of the MIM's or the chocolates? I need to find a favorite and have that when I want something sweet and not reach for something off plan.

I haven't been planning meals because we have so much in the freezer to eat. We've had to move our main meal to lunch and still getting in the swing of that hasn't given me a lot of time to think through eating on plan when our meal isn't on plan. I need to get better about it. My snacking has been a really bad area lately.
