For health reasons...I am suppose to be on a low carb / low sugar diet. I have gone to the hosp and had nutritional counseling....
but i am also suppose to loose weight - and if i follow the diet i am given....which allows for 150 carbs a day....i can't loose any weight.
I am thinking of going more toward an atkin's style diet....maybe not their suggestion of 22 carbs a day, but maybe between 50-75 carbs.
anyone have success with a protein / fresh veggie diet?
any advice?

I always do well on low carb programs. I started almost 2 weeks ago, just eliminated bread, pasta and rice and most processed sugars entirely but not restrictions on fruit. Down 5 pounds. I have green tea in the morning with eggs and fruit. I usually don't have an appetite for lunch and dinner is a protein and 2 vegetables and fruit if I want to snack on something. I have not cut out all dairy. I like cheese sticks with my fruit sometimes. It's boring. I still have a glass of wine and I plan on having cake for my birthday but then back to my new normal for another 20 pounds. Food is no longer an emotional moment. I eat for fuel (did I mention boring?) You have to eat or your body thinks you are starving it. I also get B-12 shots to help increase my metabolism. You can do it!

Trim Healthy Mama is similar in style to Atkins but allows for more carbs. It has been a much more satisfying diet for me (when i am doing it - right now I am off and floundering hopelessly).
