crunchy peanut butter or smooth?
rice krispies mixed in with the peanut butter and powdered sugar or not?
Anything else?
I've never made them before... just enjoyed eating other people's... this year we plan to make them.
How about those mice made from cherries dipped in chocolate? Do you make those? Favorite recipe?

This is the recipe my mom has made for many years - my family loves it! It makes a big batch so my mom and I usually split the peanut butter part - she ususally makes that part and the splits it with me. So I have never actually "made" the peanut butter part myself - by the time I get it, all I have to do is dip in the chocolate. We're not actually doing them this Christmas (first time!) But I think I will do them for Easter this year. Here's the recipe: 1 pound margarine (I would probably use butter myself) 1 qt peanut butter 2 boxes powdered sugar 3 12-oz. packages chocolate chips Melt margarine (or butter), add peanut butter and powdered sugar. Mix well Shape into walnut-sized balls Melt chocolate chips in heavy pan Dip balls into chocolate mixture Place on wax paper.

HI JULIE!!!
Shannon's recipe is sort of similar to the recipe I use for buckeyes.
I have never made the mice before, but I've seen them. They're so cute! I think the person I know who makes them uses chocolate-covered graham crackers as a base for the mouse, hershey's kiss and the cherry for a body and slivered almonds for ears. I'll see if I can find a recipe for you that looks right.

Okay, you use sliced almonds, not slivered almonds for the ears. I found a recipe for the mice cookies using Oreos for the base. Chocolate-Cherry Christmas Mice
