Does anybody use any of the gift card buying places? The places that you can buy the name brand cards for 10% -15% off? I've seen several advertised through the years but I've never been one to buy gift cards (or plan ahead enough to buy them)? I'm thinking I may look for some for our getaway (but we are a couple of weeks out so I may not have planned ahead enough for that either.
Any places that you've used that have been good?

The one I used no longer exists. I check Raise on occasion. Gift Card Granny is kind of like the Kayak of the gift card world.

I buy them directly from stores that have good promotions with them this time of year...
Culvers gives a free basket with $25 gift card purchase. I will buy several of those. The free basket coupon is usually good for all of January and part (or all) of February.
Subway is supposed to give a voucher for a free 6" sub with $20 gift card, but my local Subway said they didn't have any vouchers (even though the fine print on the store advertising said they would).

I rarely see any promotions like that locally anymore. The ones I've been looking at this week are for a couple of restaurants that aren't local so I am already limited to buying online. Last night, I looked at Verizon rewards and it looks like 10% off would be the best deal through them not a huge savings but better than nothing.
