I ordered 5 custom necklaces from a seller on Etsy on Nov 23. According to her store, 5-7 day to ship. I got a "shipping notification" & tracking # on Dec 3. I've waited (she is in VA & I'm in AL so 1st class it still should have been here in 3 days. I checked the tracking # yesterday (through Etsy & through USPS) both just say "Shipping Label Created" neither indicate that the item has actually been received by the post office. I sent a email to the seller yesterday morning (very nice & just asking if the item has been shipped as the tracking seems to indicate that it has not) and as of this afternoon I have not had any response to the email. These necklaces are supposed to be Christmas gifts so I'd would have at least liked a quick reply that if nothing else they "were looking into it".
What would you do? I know it hasn't been very long but they've had plenty of time to deliver to the post office since printing the shipping label. These are Christmas presents so I need to know sooner rather than later if I need to order from somewhere else if these aren't coming.

That doesn't sound like fun. :/
I guess I might wait until tomorrow morning and if I hadn't heard anything back, I might send her another msg. letting her know that they are Christmas gifts. :dunno:
I wonder if she has a lot of orders to fill right now - for Christmas gifts.
I have only ever ordered one thing from etsy and I had a weird experience. The gal sent me the wrong bracelet (not my initials). I sent her a msg. and she was very apologetic and sent out a new one. But, she never did send me a label to return the other one. After a week or two, I just sent it back at my own expense.
I hope that you get your stuff soon. Maybe she hasn't responded b/c she's working on making them so that when she replies she can say that she was able to get them out. :dunno: (I miss the dunno guy.)

I went to Etsy again tonight (so I could start researching the process if an order goes bad) and the tracking was updated to show that it shipped today (Dec 9) after she got my email. I still haven't gotten a response so at least now it shows it shipped.

They finally arrived today. I still never heard anything from the lady after I sent the email.

As an Etsy seller myself, this type of situation makes me angry. That seller gives other sellers a bad name. So many people don't understand how Etsy works so one bad experience will keep them from trying again. Very glad you got your items.

That's good that they came. One thing that's good about etsy is that you can look at the ratings to get an idea of whether or not they'd be best to buy from. If they have a history of issues, it'll probably show up there. The one time that I ordered something from there, I tried to do that. She had good ratings. I didn't put a bad rating on there or mention on the comments page that I was sent the wrong bracelet. It was an honest mistake, and I didn't want her business to suffer b/c of it. I wish that she would have communicated w/ me after the fact more too. Glad that they came in for you.

I got what I ordered, (late for when I needed it, it should/would have been on time if it had been shipped after the printing label was created instead of waiting to ship wen I emailed asking why it wasn't showing as received by the PO) but they are very pretty and I am pleased with them. The communication from the seller was lousy (because it was non existent after I emailed to ask a question).

Personally I think I would leave a mid-range rating and explain that while the product was wonderful, the service was less than stellar. Courtesy means something in a business and while I'm sure she is busy this time of year, a brief "I'm so sorry, it's on its way right now" would have been the courteous thing to do.
