My mom is asking for a list. My husband is asking for a list.
I am so blessed. I just really can't think of anything.

I didn't know this year either. All my stuff is expensive. Then with the concert tickets/weekend away and the medical bills from DD...there's no money left for a gift from DH.
My MIL got me a new set of crochet hooks I shared on my Etsy shop's Facebook page. I had to order them and she gave me a check because the one and only time they ordered online, they struggled. So they refuse to do it again. So I'm already using them.
Is there a book you want or new slippers or a food you like or a restaurant you don't normally get to go to?

The problem is that usually when I want something, I just buy it. Or I talk myself out of it.
He bought me concert tickets and a nice new Bible for my birthday last week, so he's already spent a good chunk of change on me. I came up with a few little things.

I'm asking for new silverware, food processor & new melamine plates. I'm so hard to please. I still probably won't get any of it unless I buy it myself. Both sets of parents are struggling this year so we've asked (and hopefully they'll pay attention) for nothing from them. I wish they'd limit the kids to 1 or 2 gifts but they won't.

I've asked for a phone case to work out with, some silpats for baking, and a pasta roller... I can always find kitchen things I like.

I'm hoping that my husband doesn't buy me anything. I just got an expensive camera, and don't feel right about spending any more $ on me. (It's technically our camera, but I'm the one who enjoys photography, so...) My kids will probably shop for me, though. I can't very well ask them not to. I'd feel bad about that, if I did. I wouldn't mind a new waffle maker. I saw one at costco that is double sided, so it makes two at once. I bought a new one not too long ago, but we don't like the way that it makes them. Other than that some pyrex every day stuff. I've stopped using plastic for heating (or heated) things, so I'm kind of needing some more regular sized pyrex things for sides and for leftovers and stuff. I'm the same way as you - if I really need it, I'll buy it. And, if I really don't, I'll likely talk myself out of it. My husband is the same way too.

I'm in the same boat Erin. I told DS2 that I want new measuring cups and spoons. He was disgusted with my ideas. The boys don't have extra funds right now and there is really nothing I want/need.
Dh and I are splurging with meals out and adventures while we are in Maryland. I don't think we'll be buying for each other.
We don't exchange with extended family or my mother.

I, seriously, want nothing ..... just a smile on the face of my children is good enough for me.
My mom always bought the "wish list" item. She really was very great that way. My kids are going to miss that tremendously. I told dh that I think we should either give the kids $$ (saying it's from her) for Christmas, or buy them one very special thing and say that it is what she would have liked to have gotten them.
But as for me .... a clean house & a happy family is all the Christmas that I need.

I'm having a tough time coming up with stuff, too. You aren't alone.

I have a hard time coming up with stuff too. And what I do come up is usually stuff that is for whatever current project I'm working on. (Last year I used Christmas money to buy some shelving.) I always have projects around the house that I would like to do that cost money. But that's really it. I am excited though. My mom took the kids shopping to buy presents for family this year. DD just did for DS - she's too little to have the focus for more than that. But DS did for DD, DH and me - with a little guidance from Grandma (cost-wise mostly I think) but otherwise on his own. I'm prepared for whatever (my brother at this age got my dad paper plates for his birthday LOL) - but really I'm just excited because its a first for him.

If you get paper plates you get a couple of meals without washing dishes, I'd take it!

I'm thinking paper plates sound like a peachy gift, with some plastic silverware and also someone else cooking dinner! LOL

I do remember now that my mom did ask what I wanted. Tease if you want but I've been asking for Adventures and Odyssey CDs for years and no one will buy them for me. I grew up listing to AIO and still enjoy it. They are great for listening to while doing chores but there is only one episode a day to listen to online and I've listened to the ones I own a gazillion times. I'm hoping my mom will actually do it this year.

I do the same thing. I would love a new food processor but can't justify the purchase. I have the same black & decker one my parents gave me when I moved out of the house - which was a looooong time ago. I do cook alot and enjoy doing it. Maybe I should let them get it.
