DD just needs a tad more variety in her diet as she is bored and not eating well because of it. We already have "special princess toast" (French toast but only eggs, no milk, spices, etc. with a little strawberry jam).
Today we are trying a "milkshake"--banana, applesauce, and rice milk. So far, she likes it!
I also made applesauce muffins this morning but I used half AP flour, half ground up oatmeal to make oat flour which will be a little gentler on her system. I left all the spices out but a little cinnamon. I used water instead of milk. I cut the sugar from 3/4 cup to 1/4-1/3 cup. Then I did half applesauce, half mushed banana. The one bite I had was actually pretty good! She's going to have that with peanut butter for part of dinner.
This certainly is making me more creative! lol

I read online that milk was okay, I'm curious as to what your paper says. Also what about popcorn? Just the air popped kind? It was just a thought. I hope you can fine more combos that she likes.

I was told no dairy besides yogurt. :dunno: I actually don't have a paper. Was just verbally told a bland diet. The nurse and I (over the phone) had to figure out what could be allowed. I then went online and did more research for bland stuff. A week is a long time on a bland diet. Especially if you are two. She's sick of grape juice but apple juice is one of the things that isn't approved by anything the nurse looked up or anything I looked up or what the doc said. Same for dairy. Dairy was the big no-no. I think it is because it can make the mucus worse and she is still dealing with mucus in her stool. After a few sips, DD stopped liking the milkshake. So I told her I'd add a tiny bit of cocoa powder and she could have a chocolate milkshake for dessert tonight. We aren't a popcorn family so no air popper. She also doesn't like popcorn.

I see that you have rice milk. You can replace milk with rice milk in just about any baking.
