My mom was here for a couple of days. She offered to stay with the kids for the evening so we could go have dinner/do whatever we wanted.
The last time we did something together away from home with no kids was a year and a half ago.
We did some shopping and then had dinner at a Chinese restaurant. It was a great night!
Neither of us are that into doing "date nights" so to speak. Usually such times mean watching TV or playing a game after the kids are asleep - which we enjoy. But it IS good to get away once in awhile.
We also got home just in time. I went out to lock the chickens in when we got home - and a small raccoon (I think) bolted out of the chicken house as I approached. I'm quite sure that in another few moments, I would have been short a chicken!
