I thought it would be fun to see what kind of projects everyone is working on, whether for Christmas or just for fun. At the moment I'm doing a quilled teacup and teapot. I have an idea for a quilled Christmas tree, but I need some more supplies before I can get started on that...plus I only have so much space for quilling so I should probably finish the project I've already started, lol! I'm also working on a quilt based on the game Settlers of Catan. It's actually really close to being finished, but I haven't spent time on it in a while. This Thursday night is Sewing Circle at my church, and I'll probably bring it along and get some stitches in. I've added a lot of detail since this picture, but here's the top before I started quilting: So what projects do you have going? (Doesn't have to be crafty!)

(Sorry if that picture is huge...I tried to resize it but sometimes it takes a while for that to take effect!)

VERY cool! You are so talented. Right now I am trying to keep my head above water with work, and selling my Aunt's house, and some added stress. DD will probably do much of the baking, and I am trying to finish shopping and start wrapping , so , sadly no projects this year. For now I will admire all of you!!!!

I'm trying to finish a project for my girlfriend for Christmas. It took me longer than it should have to find a pattern that I liked. I have Christmas shopping to do, that counts as a project right? Lol

I need to learn how to post a pic I just finished this quilt. Saw this pic online and fell in love. calicoquiltdesigns.blogspot.com/Mine looks nearly exactly like this - I did the outer binding in the hot pink, and I think that looks nice. I have also made several quilted pillows (4) 16" square, for friends, a couple of table runners for friends, and now working on some quilted ornaments. I have made a few goofy looking ones, but I think I have one that looks cute, and I might try to make a few more for gifts.

Love your teapot quilt. I haven't tried hexagons yet....I did just buy the half hexagon rulers from missouri star quilt company.

And I hope you do figure out how to post pictures, because I would love to see your projects. I will have to look up the half hexagon rulers...never heard of those! The Catan quilt is my first time doing hexagons, and I used paperpieces.com for the paper pieces (highly recommend them, by the way). I found this tutorial very helpful to learn the technique! I just took a picture of my quilled teacup (which is almost finished...just need to do the part of the inside that shows at the top). The teapot will be bigger, and I'll arrange them with tea pouring into the cup. The scene looks nice in my head, at least...we'll see if it turns out that way! cshoremom, *hugs* to you with all the stress! kidsandpets, thanks! When all the quilting is done, my dad is going to make some scaled roads and settlements as buttons so I can stitch them on. paliz, what kind of project is it?

The quilt I did is called prairie meadow by susan martin She found an antique quilt, tried to replicate it - and made a pattern and it was in the Winter 2013 issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects, (page 74)
I didn't buy the pattern tho, just guessed, and made it a queen size for my bed.
It has strips of scraps / off set by wide strips of green, trimmed in a hot pink (sounds weird, but I thought it was very pretty)

My project today was baking bread - lots of bread! I bake and give out as Christmas gifts to our pastors, neighbors and teachers. There's so much sweet stuff at this time of year and I decided about 4 years ago that homemade bread might make a nice change so I've been doing that since. I have one more batch to go tomorrow and then I will be done except for the passing out (of gifts, not of me!) This is all on top of the weekly batch I made for my own family yesterday! But I make this bread so often that its pretty easy and routine now.

lucy, I like it! Very nice!
kidsandpets, the bread sounds like a great idea. I would love to bake bread regularly for our family, but I haven't figured out how to make it happen with a toddler in the house. I'm planning to bake some brownies tomorrow to take to the pediatrician's office and the library (both places we frequent, where we appreciate all the staff!).

Its not easy with a toddler - I remember doing it, but I wasn't homeschooling anyone like you are. Baking bread for family is great but it has a downside here - my DD won't eat any bread except "Mommy Bread" now! That's fine and dandy except that when I run low, I HAVE to make more and she won't ever eat sandwiches at someone else's house unless I bring our own bread. (Although she will eat a sandwich on a hamburger bun if all else fails...)

It's suppose to be a cardigan of sorts. I'm having trouble with sizing right now.

Okay, so, maybe you guys can help me think about this... I finished quilling the teapot, and here's a picture of both pieces on the background cardstock (but they're not glued down yet): So initially I had thought I would arrange them with the teapot pouring tea into the cup. But now I think I might like them this way instead. Plus, I'm having difficulty figuring out how to make the pouring tea look right; my ideas don't quite seem like they'll work well. So what do you guys think--arranged like in the picture, or with the teapot up higher and pouring into the cup? Also: does the cup look okay without a saucer? Or does it look like it's missing something? (I am going to add a little to the top of the cup to show the inside there.)
