Just wanted to share and you ladies can make this a ? of the day thread. Did you get or give what you consider a thoughtful gift for Christmas? I wanted to share mine. DH gave me a gift certificate to get my Wedding band and engagement band resized! I have lost a lot of weight and my rings keep sliding around on my finger! I love that he thought of this gift. It will be so nice to have this done and best of all it is a gift that does not require finding a place to store it. LOL

Dh gave me and each of the kids a box of Wonka candy containing a golden ticket. The ticket is good for a trip anywhere with him. He wants to make memories. He and 21 yo DD have dreamed of Ireland for years so they will go in 2015. DS2 is majoring in aerospace engineering and they are hoping to plan a trip to rocket launch. DS1 is still thinking. He was given the option of help with a car instead of a trip but we are holding out hope he chooses the trip somewhere.

Dh and I went big for our 15th anniversary. It was way more than we've ever done before, but we combined it with Christmas so that made it ok. Lol.

This is great! Two things immediately come to mind. Our neighbors called us 2 days before Christmas and asked if they could come bring the kids a couple gifts they got for them. We were surprised and blessed when they brought DS a remote control truck and DD a toy purse. We were able to do good things for Christmas for the kids (that they are loving!) - but we would not have been able to get new things like that. It was a blessing. Then my DH decided to take HIS Christmas money from my parents and get a new vacuum for me. Our vacuum is functional mostly but I'm sure not at its peak anymore and structurally it is in bad shape and difficult to use. DH didn't have anything in particular he wanted - so he decided to bless me instead. (I need that :cloud9: guy here!)

How thoughtful!

My family went in together to get me a recliner. I had mentioned when the baby was sick that it would be nice to be able to sleep semi-upright with him. The best part was that I went shopping with my mom and sister in law on the premise of helping my mom choose some furniture. However, it was a set-up and I actually picked out the chair that they ended up getting me.

We have friends in Seattle but I would enjoy visiting them a LOT more than DH would. I want the trip to be exciting for both of us.

Oh yes! That is a good choice. May I recommend the state of Utah... so many beautiful state parks!! I would be over the moon over your DH's gift idea... I love seeing new places. I have what one calls wanderlust!

My husband bought me a pair of gloves and scarf that I had loved at the craft fair a while back. We were there together so he was pretty sneaky in getting them for me. He was very good at picking out thoughtful gifts this year. I also got a pressure cooker/canner from my step dad. I had been wanting one and not only did I get a new one but got the one that had been my grandmas, all cleaned up and in good working order.

DH got me gift certificates for a date with him, which I totally loved. Gift card for the movies and dinner, plus $20 bill because we always go to Walmart on our dates it seems like LOL!

I know that there are many that I could share, but... One that brings a smile to my face is - A few years back, my husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told him a rainbow. (Meaning, I have everything that I need, I'm content, don't worry about it.) Well, one of the gifts that he gave me was a big bag of skittles. ("Taste the rainbow")

What a blessing for you to be so content.. praise God for that .
